Surviving Property Inspections with Kids: A Guide.

Inspecting property can be tedious for even the most seasoned buyers agent at times. You're not alone in negotiating rewards for good behaviour to push through the inspection list.

Here's our best recommendations from our experience.

1. Always ensure that everyone has is fed and has a water bottle, inspecting homes is like grocery shopping, it shouldn't be done on an empty stomach.

2. Set 3 things at each home that everyone has to find. This could be the kids' room, counting the storage cupboards, finding the dog kennel or bird cage, collecting the information brochure.

3. Ask the agent a question. How long has the home been advertised, what's the price of the home.

4. Search for something that no one else may know - the brand of hot water system, type of air conditioning, dishwasher or what school zone the property is in (these can sometimes also be in the property brochure!)

5. Counting the stairs or windows in the home.

Report back and compare notes or collect a prize for best observations or most things checked off the list.
